The Position
Core duties include, but are not limited to:
- Carrying out laboratory and pilot testing programs by preparing detailed test plans, executing test work, and delivering on defined scopes
- Coordinating with and assisting Lab Technologists in setting up experimental apparatus and performing bench‑scale testing of various treatment processes
- Performing lab, pilot, and plant data analysis, completing mass balances, and interpreting results to support process development and optimization
- Writing, reviewing, and editing technical documents, including lab reports, technical memos, design reports, and conference or journal papers
- Conducting technical assessments, including scoping‑level design and cost estimates, to evaluate water treatment processes and identify fatal flaws, advantages, limitations, and best‑fit applications
- Contributing to technology development by conducting research studies, laboratory and mini‑pilot test work, and providing technical support to the IP and technology development team
- Providing process engineering support, including developing process flow diagrams, mass and energy balances, equipment sizing and specifications, and preparing PFDs, P&IDs, GAs, and instrument lists
- Providing technical support to commissioning and operations teams and gaining hands‑on experience at full‑scale plants and pilot campaigns
- Interfacing directly with clients to present technical findings and recommendations
- Other duties as assigned
Eligibility Criteria
- Minimum education includes a degree in Metallurgy, Hydrometallurgy, Chemical Engineering, Water Treatment, Mining, or a related field. Masters degree + an asset
- 3-5 years of industry work experience withing the fields mentioned; PhD level academia will count towards this
- Hands-on experience with laboratory testing
- Familiarity with water and wastewater treatment processes is beneficial
- Strong safety awareness, including chemical handling, hazard identification, and adherence to lab safety protocols
- Attention to detail, reliable record‑keeping, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in lab and field environments.
Compensation Package
In addition to a competitive salary, the individual will receive:

Compensation
$75,000.00 – $95,000.00 per year
