Indigenous Relations
BQE’s business is stewardship over water as a shared precious resource throughout the life cycle of mining projects. In his role, Daniel is responsible for ensuring operations perform safely and according to expectations, and staffed with well trained personnel. James Elphick
James is a Senior Environmental Toxicologist with over 30 years of experience and he joined BQE in 2025 to support development of the BQE environmental toxicology laboratory. He has considerable experience developing site-specific water quality guidelines for mining operations and in identifying causes of toxicity to aquatic organisms. This expertise helps inform clients where adjusted discharge limits may be considered appropriate and scientifically defensible and where water treatment is necessary, while also enabling BQE to optimize water treatment in a manner that protects aquatic life. James is a Registered Professional Biologist in BC.
