Milestone in Emergency Treatment at Eagle Gold Mine

BQE Water Reaches Milestone in Emergency Treatment at Eagle Gold Mine

BQE Water Eagle Mine

In 2025, we at BQE Water successfully discharged over 600,000 m³ of treated water into the environment at Eagle Gold Mine in Yukon, supporting emergency clean-up efforts under our contract with PricewaterhouseCoopers Inc., acting as Receiver for Victoria Gold Corp.

Following the heap leach facility failure, we quickly developed and deployed an emergency treatment system to manage multiple contaminated water sources, including cyanide-bearing heap leach solution, spring snowmelt contact water, and contaminated groundwater from interception wells.

Our treatment system combines proven technologies with real-time monitoring tools, allowing us to continuously track water quality against Key Performance Indicators developed by our expert team. We also ensure effluent quality through daily verification by accredited third-party laboratories conducting comprehensive chemical and toxicity testing on 24-hour composite samples. This rigorous approach helps us maintain consistent compliance with environmental standards while protecting local ecosystems.
